# Price

> Receive live price updates for every ticker at once, or for a single ticker.

**NOTE:**
This is the documentation for websocket channels `price` and `price:<TICKER>`.
Websocket access for personal use is only available through the[Advanced plan](https://unusualwhales.com/pricing?product=api).

Connect to the websocket URI:

`wss://api.unusualwhales.com/socket?token=<YOUR_API_TOKEN>`

then `join` the channel you wish to stream, for example `price:SPY` for live price updates for SPY or `price` for live price updates for every ticker.

If you are connecting to multiple `price:<TICKER>` channels and just want prices for all tickers, connect only to the global `price` channel.

Payload format:

Format for `price:<TICKER>`:

```

```

Format for `price`:

```
["price",{"ticker":"SPY","close":"562.82","time":1726670327692,"vol":6015555}]
```

### Field reference

| Field | Type | Description |

| `ticker` | string | Ticker symbol. |
| `close` | decimal string | Last trade price. |
| `time` | int (ms) | Trade execution time, unix epoch milliseconds (UTC). |
| `vol` | int | Cumulative session volume on the underlying as of `time`. |
