> Receive live headline news (Truth Social posts + aggregator news).

Websocket access for personal use is only available through the [Advanced plan](https://unusualwhales.com/pricing?product=api).

Connect to the websocket URI:

`wss://api.unusualwhales.com/socket?token=<YOUR_API_TOKEN>`

then `join` the channel you wish to stream: `news` for all live headline news.

### Field reference

| Field | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `headline` | string | The full headline text. For Truth Social posts this is the post body verbatim. |
| `timestamp` | ISO 8601 string | Time the headline was published, UTC. |
| `source` | string | One of `"social-media"` (Truth Social posts), `"aggregator"`, or any other upstream source string passed through verbatim. |
| `tickers` | string\[] | Tickers tagged on the headline. Empty for Truth Social posts. |
| `is_trump_ts` | bool | `true` only when the source is Truth Social and the author is `@realDonaldTrump`. Use this to filter the highest-signal Truth Social subset. |
